Since its discovery in 1946, the Ketza River district has developed into one of the Yukon’s premiere mineral camps.  The area is host to two main mineralization styles: oxide and sulphide hosted gold mantos, and high-grade silver-lead (+/- gold) quartz sulphide veins.  18526 Yukon Inc.’s Ketza Property comprises 37 contiguous and strategically located claims in the heart of the district, covering numerous historic showings and workings.  Highlights include:

F2 Vein – The initial discovery in the Ketza River District, consisting of 13 to 36 cm wide, parallel bands of galena across a 2.4 m width, and traced along surface over 274 m.  A continuous surface assay over 30 m averaged 579.4 g/t silver and 29.4% lead across a 2.6 m width.  Local gold values to 12.55 g/t have been returned from vein material, 11.0 g/t gold over 3.3 m was returned in drilling, and a 9 m interval of 23.3 g/t gold across a 1.5 m width occurs where an adit intersects the vein.  The F2 area is downslope of a 600 x 100 m anomaly of greater than 3000 ppm lead and up to 2700 ppb gold in soils.

F2 Manto – A gold-bearing oxide manto body, apparently faulted off.  The body contains an estimated 9000 tonnes of ore averaging 6.86 g/t gold, and it highlights the potential of the surrounding area to host similar zones of mineralization.

Saddle – Another gold-bearing oxide manto, exposed by trenching over 90 m, possibly striking as far as 230 m.  Select grab samples of the oxide material returned values of up to 45 g/t gold.

Key 3 – Massive, silver-rich galena lenses occurring along fault structures.  The 56-kilometer access road into the Ketza River District was built in 1959 to access this and the F2 areas.  Several adits were driven into the Key 3 showings to a maximum distance of 11.0 m, returning grades as high as 1110.8 g/t silver and 17.8% lead over 7.4 m, with a 0.9 m width.  Select grab samples assayed up to 17,142.4 g/t silver, with 63.6% lead.  It does not appear that this system was explored to depth.

LaPrairie – Galena vein exposed intermittently for 137 m along surface.  Channel sampling averaged 1200 g/t silver & 38% lead over the entire length and across a 1.07 m width.

The remainder of the claim block is host to dozens of additional showings and mineralized occurrences.  Though much activity has taken place on the claims, it has yet to see a comprehensive, systematic evaluation using modern exploration techniques.  Sampling by Ron Berdahl revealed high gold values (to 0.764 oz/ton) across many old showings initially explored for silver and lead, as well as an occurrence of zinc mineralization reminiscent of VMS in a volcanic unit towards the north end of the property.  18526 Yukon Inc. holds nearly all previous exploration materials regarding its Ketza holdings.

An all-weather 2WD road from the Robert Campbell Highway cuts through the middle of the property, and much of the rest of the claim block is accessible through a radiating network of 4WD cat trails.  Yukon-Nevada Gold Corp.’s mill, currently on care and maintenance, is situated 3.5 km to the west of 18526 Yukon Inc.’s ground.
