Canamax Resources conducted the first exploration of the Nut property in the early 1980’s, with soil and rock samples revealing an area of strong gold, silver, copper, lead, zinc & tungsten mineralization in a hornsfelsed zone near an exposed stock of the Tombstone Plutonic Suite.  Chip samples of mineralized skarn have returned grades of up to 9.16 g/t gold (0.293 oz/ton) across 2 m, and an individual grab sample returned over 2000 g/t silver.  An 8 m wide exposure of contact brecciation near the intrusive reportedly consists of up to 50% galena.  An airborne magnetic survey, also by Canamax, revealed N-S magnetic structures beneath the mineralized zone, thought to represent skarns, as well as an intense anomaly at depth, south of the known mineralization.

Both high and low temperature mineralogical assemblages have been observed on the property, and the Ordovician to Devonian phyllites and carbonaceous sediments through which the stock intrudes have attracted significant attention as a potential Carlin host unit.

The Nut property was re-staked in September 2010 by 18526 Yukon Inc to cover the known area of mineralization, with a wide perimeter that includes the intense magnetic anomaly observed by Canamax.  Given the significant anomalies and outcropping mineralization, it is likely that the Nut could be made drill-ready with just a brief field program.
